On Tuesday October 11, 2011 Leanne (Chin) was diagnosed with breast cancer. This blog will follow her journey. It will share the peaks and valleys along the way. But it will also serve as a way to communicate prayer requests and praises. Join us as we partner with Chin and fight along side her for she "...can do all things through Christ who strengthens her." Phil. 4:13

The meaning behind Chin ... There is a Chinese restaurant in the Twin Cities named Leann Chin. While Leanne was attending a basketball camp in middle school, a fellow camper had a bag from the restaurant. This camper made the connection between the name of the restaurant and Leanne's name. And the nickname Chin stuck!

Port

Since Leanne will be having chemo once a week, the decision has been made to have a port put in so Leanne does not have to have an IV put in every week. The port will be placed on her chest and will have to be put in surgically.

Please pray for:
  • Skilled hands for the surgeon as Leanne's port is put in on Friday
  • Peace and rest for Leanne
  • Wisdom for Dr. Bloom as he determines the treatment plan
Thanks to all who prayed for Leanne, Ryan, and Leo's time away last week! They all arrived safely in Iowa (who doesn't want to visit Iowa in March?!?!) and had a wonderful visit with family. All the cousins were together and the adults loved every single minute of it! 7pm bedtimes were a welcomed relief at the end of busy, fun days :)

Enjoy some pics from the week!

Leanne,
I think you'll find the port is easier to deal with. My mom had a port for her chemo treatments and it worked well.
Praying for you :)

Leanne,
The port is a great plan. I got to put antibiotics into Karens port, when she had been bitten by a Brown Recluse spider. Lucky for her, the trip to hospitals were getting tiresome. God Bless you girl! Coach and Mrs. A

Leanne - the Boehm family is holding you all up in our prayers. I'm sorry you have to enter the world of tests, doctors, and drugs again, but hopefully the port will make the process a little easier for you. YOU are a STRONG woman and my daughters are so blessed to get a small part of you on the basketball court. Thinking and praying for you constantly! May you experience peace and calm that only HE can provide you tomorrow when you get your port put in. With much love,
Eva Boehm

Leanne,
You were on my mind when I woke up this morning and I just wanted to let you know that I think of you often and am always praying for you. Good luck today as you get your port put in...hopefully that will make the process a bit easier for you.
