On Tuesday October 11, 2011 Leanne (Chin) was diagnosed with breast cancer. This blog will follow her journey. It will share the peaks and valleys along the way. But it will also serve as a way to communicate prayer requests and praises. Join us as we partner with Chin and fight along side her for she "...can do all things through Christ who strengthens her." Phil. 4:13

The meaning behind Chin ... There is a Chinese restaurant in the Twin Cities named Leann Chin. While Leanne was attending a basketball camp in middle school, a fellow camper had a bag from the restaurant. This camper made the connection between the name of the restaurant and Leanne's name. And the nickname Chin stuck!

praises, wigs, & grover

Leanne had an MRI this past Wednesday and she got the results today that the cancer has not spread at all! Praise the Lord! Thanks for your prayers!
On another note, Leanne, Fran, and Katie went shopping for a wig on Thursday. It was hard, but needed to be done. The ladies at DK International were fantastic! Michelle, Leanne's wig lady (for lack of a better name), was awesome. She was really helpful and had lots of encouraging information to share. Here are a few snapshots of ones that Leanne decided NOT to get ...

The Danielle:
The Grandma :

You will just have to wait and see which one she actually got!

**Just so you know, Leanne and Ryan are not actually going to name their little boy Grover. It is just a nickname :) While visiting this summer, Leanne was reading her niece the book Goodnight Grover before she went to bed and thus the nickname Grover was born!**

Hey, I do not like the "Grandma" wig, we will all be getting older too soon to act older than we are. Karen and I are praying that God is just giving you a little test. All of the ones that love you also are being tested. Together we will use the power of God to speed your recovery, and then on to bigger, or smaller(baby) joys.

Hey Leanne and family, the updates are encouraging--keep up the great positive attitude. If prayers were dollars in the bank, you'd be a millionaire by now!! With continued prayers and love. God Bless!

That is great news! and the pictures!!! Now I know what Fran will look like with gray hair!!! Spitting image! Reminds me of the time we put too much shampoo in our hair while showering in the basement on reiman!!! Laughed for hours after we figured out how to get the soap suds out...That picture reminds me of you Fran in the shower with your hair all soaped up and white! Keep praying here for all to be well, and I know that God is with you! Sending you our love and prayers ...Aunt Mary Ellen
