On Tuesday October 11, 2011 Leanne (Chin) was diagnosed with breast cancer. This blog will follow her journey. It will share the peaks and valleys along the way. But it will also serve as a way to communicate prayer requests and praises. Join us as we partner with Chin and fight along side her for she "...can do all things through Christ who strengthens her." The meaning behind Chin ... There is a Chinese restaurant in the Twin Cities named Leann Chin. While Leanne was attending a basketball camp in middle school, a fellow camper had a bag from the restaurant. This camper made the connection between the name of the restaurant and Leanne's name. And the nickname Chin stuck!

Relay for Life

Thank you to all who were able to participate with Leanne and TEAM CHIN on Friday in the Relay for Life! It was a great event and Leanne was blessed to have the chance to share her story.

Here is Leanne's speech from the event. (Make sure you have some tissues handy, you will need them!)
 

Leanne starts radiation today. Please keep her in your prayers. Pray for:
  • The radiation tech's to skillfully administer the radiation
  • The side effects to be minimal (fatigue is the biggest side effect)
  • Strength and perseverance for Leanne as she continues on in this journey
  • Peace for Leanne, Ryan, and their families

What a blessing you are to those around you who watch the courage that you have in meeting the challenges that every day brings. You are in my prayers. I am encouraged for you as I lived in a family growing up where there are three cancer survivors. Blessings to you on your journey!! You go, girl!!
