On Tuesday October 11, 2011 Leanne (Chin) was diagnosed with breast cancer. This blog will follow her journey. It will share the peaks and valleys along the way. But it will also serve as a way to communicate prayer requests and praises. Join us as we partner with Chin and fight along side her for she "...can do all things through Christ who strengthens her." Phil. 4:13

The meaning behind Chin ... There is a Chinese restaurant in the Twin Cities named Leann Chin. While Leanne was attending a basketball camp in middle school, a fellow camper had a bag from the restaurant. This camper made the connection between the name of the restaurant and Leanne's name. And the nickname Chin stuck!

It starts again ...

Chemo .... Thursday morning.

The appointment with the oncologist today was not quite what we were expecting to hear, but God doesn't promise that. Dr. Bloom said that part of the tumor was responding to the hormone therapy, but the rest of it was not. So, in order to do surgery and get the cancer out of Leanne's body, she will start chemo on Thursday. She will have chemo once a week for 3 weeks and then will have a week off.

Please pray for us. We know that we can claim God's promises about these things and ask that you would partner with us in praying for the following:

-Peace for Leanne and Ryan as they begin the next phase of treatment (John 14:27)
-Leanne, Ryan, and their families to depend on God during this time (Isaiah 26:3 and Psalm 55:22)
-God to continue to work good in this situation, even though it may not seem like it to us (Romans 8:28)
-Leanne, Ryan, and their families to trust God's plan for their lives (Jeremiah 29:11)
-Continued good health and growth for Leo
-The chemo would drastically shrink the tumor quickly
-Continued wisdom and knowledge for the doctors as they treat Leanne

Leanne,

Coach Jess Rahman here....been thinking about you and baby Leo alot lately and praying for you in this journey. I went through the chemotherapy with my mom and I know that it can be tough and tiring, but I also know you and you are a "figher". I remember all the times in practice and games and seasons where this approach helped you succeed. You have many people praying for you and are blessed with caring and knowledgeable medical care. And wow - what a family!!!! I would like you to know that our Pink Zone breast cancer awareness game....this Wednesday, February 15vs Gustavus....will be dedicated to you and your fight against breast cancer. We are hoping to have a large turn-out for the game and the event. We will share your story and increase the "prayer group" and encircle you with those prayers for healing.
